Abigail is a 6 year old girl who
loves to interact with her sisters and play on the computer with
books, games and music. She also enjoys watching cartoons on the
television. But most of all Abigail loves to interact with people.
She is a very social girl!
Due to a car accident, Abigail had a stroke while she was in the
womb. At birth she was given the diagnoses of Cerebral Palsy. She
has difficulty using her arms and legs due to high muscle tone,
reflex influence and poor strength. Abigail also has difficulty
eating and swallowing so she gets most of her nutrition through a
stomach tube. She makes sounds but has difficulty forming words.
Recently Abigail received a Baclofen Pump which releases muscle
relaxers into the spinal cord area. Hopefully she will be able to
start using her arms and legs more independently after the
retraining of her muscles. Abigail is already showing improvement!
